LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Cardston High School grad is joining the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

Taylor Barfuss has committed to the men’s basketball team for the 2021-2022 season.

The six-foot point guard is the latest member of his family to attend the college, having had multiple siblings previously attend the Lethbridge post-secondary institution.

Additionally, he’ll be able to play alongside his second cousin Ty Lewis on the Kodiaks next season.

Coach Ryan Heggie said, “Taylor is a ‘throw back’ point guard, he is a good leader, a heads-up passer and loves to compete.”

“I am thrilled having Taylor join the Kodiaks. Given his program of study is Agriculture Sciences, it looks positive Taylor will have a chance to grow his game over his two to three years studying at LC.”

Barfuss meanwhile, said he’s excited to become a Kodiaks student-athlete.

“The Kodiaks support the community a lot and I like that. When you put on a jersey it represents a lot and I am honored to be able to do that. They are a great program on and off the court.”

Former high school coach Ken McMurray called Barfuss one of the best players he’s coached in 30 years, adding he has an “old school game with a basketball IQ second to none.”
