EDMONTON, AB – The auditor general believes Alberta’s system of medical-imaging tests needs a lot of work to fix a patchwork of confusion and communication.
Doug Wylie says there are long wait times with some urgent-needs cases getting bounced to the back of the line.
Wylie, in his latest report, stated that the main culprit is a lack of centralized booking and planning.
He added that the other problem is antiquated systems, with handwritten forms being sent in by fax machine.
