Canes fall to Hitmen 6-3

CALGARY, AB– After dropping two out of their last three games, the Lethbridge Hurricanes took on the Calgary Hitmen Friday afternoon.

First Period:

Hitmen’s Josh Prokop gets the scoring started for the game with his seventh goal of the season.

Nine minutes into the first, Cael Zimmerman scores his first of the game and the Hitmen’s second.

Shortly after that, Adam Kydd scores two goals in the span of one minute to go up 4-0 over the Hurricanes.

Hitmen lead 4-0 after one.

Second Period:

Five minutes into the second frame, Alex Cotton scores his sixth goal of the season and the Hurricanes’ first of the game.

Two minutes later, Ty Nash scores the Canes’ second of the game to cut the lead in half.

12 minutes into the second, Dino Kambeitz scored a short-handed goal to make the score 4-3 for the Hitmen.

Brandon Whynott answers for the Hitmen to score his first WHL goal and the Hitmen’s fifth of the game.

Hitmen lead 5-3 after two.

Third Period:

The third period was filled with equal pressure from both sides and after the Hurricanes pulled their goalie late in the period, Riley Stotts scored his first of the game for the Hitmen to put the game out of reach.

Hitmen win 6-3.

Both teams play the second of their three-game series Saturday, April 24.
