Grades 1-6 moved online at Our Lady of the Assumption School

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is shifting operations at a Lethbridge school.

Grades 1 through 6 at Our Lady of the Assumption School will begin online learning as of today (Monday, April 26) due to a string of COVID cases.

The online learning model will be in effect until Friday, May 7 and Holy Spirit plans to resume in-person learning for Grades 1 through 6 on Monday, May 10.

In-person learning will continue for Early Learning and Kindergarten classes.

There are currently six active cases at the Lethbridge school, with two additional infections reported late Sunday night, April 25.

All close contacts have been informed and are required to isolate. The division could not report if the new cases impacted staff members and/or students.

As of Sunday night, there are eight active cases within the division:

  • Six at Our Lady of the Assumption School (Lethbridge)
  • One at Ecole St. Mary (Lethbridge)
  • One at St. Francis Junior High School (Lethbridge)

These cases have resulted in the isolation of roughly 200 staff and students.
