On Monday, May 3, all Grade 7-12 students in “hotspots” across Alberta will have their classes moved online.

That was one of the new COVID-19 measures announced by Premier Jason Kenney last week to help curb the spread of the virus in “hotspot” regions in the province.

Those “hotspots” are Lethbridge, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Airdrie, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie and Strathcona County.

More details on the latest measures are available here.

Additionally, it was announced earlier on Sunday the spring sitting of the Alberta Legislature would be temporarily suspended due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across the province.
