RED DEER, AB – Singer/songwriter Jesse Roads, who grew up in Lethbridge and calls Red Deer home, has new material ready for public consumption.

Roads has spent the past few months working on his latest studio album, which comes with a special twist, as he describes it.

The new record is not a traditional album but actually a live performance, captured on track and video, and performed from the well-known Rose & Crown in Banff.

“They say that when music is recorded, you don’t just capture the artist; you capture some of the magic of a specific environment,” says Roads, whose inspirations include Neil Young, City and Colour, and Bob Dylan. “With the pandemic putting a stop on live music and even most conventional studio sessions, this album stands as a stark and powerful reminder of how important it is to get out there and perform.”

The album — entitled simply From the World Famous Rose & Crown Banff — features 10 songs, including four previously recorded but unreleased.

It will be available soon as a Video Premiere Concert Special on YouTube, and is already available as an audio album on all major streaming services, including Apple Music.
