Sharp rise in “non-delivery scams” across Canada – how to protect yourself
LETHBRIDGE, AB – “A good rule of thumb: if the asking price of a product is too good to be true, it is.”
It’s yet another warning from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) for people to be more careful when it comes to online shopping.
The CAFC says, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, scammers have been increasingly targeting those looking to purchase items online, resulting in a rise in what they call “non-delivery scams.”
Many non-delivery scams as of late have to do with personal protective equipment (PPE).
