LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks have added another player to the women’s soccer team for the 2021 fall season.

Jayna Timinski, a midfielder and Calgary Blizzard graduate, has committed to join the team.

Timinski will join the Kodiaks next fall after graduating from John G. Diefenbaker High School in Calgary.

On the field, she is expected to bring a range of high-level experience and an offensive touch to the Kodiaks midfield.

“Jayna came down from Calgary Blizzard and she’s a very hard-working central midfielder,” said Sean Carey, Kodiaks Soccer Head Coach. “She’s got a great vision for passing and has a thunder of a shot on her.”

Timinski joins a Kodiaks roster that is continuing to get deeper with quality talent. Carey believes she will push hard for a starting role in the Kodiaks central midfield in the fall.

“There’s going to be a lot of competition for those places and she [Timinski] just adds another element to that,” said Carey. “So that’s why we’re expecting a lot of success this fall because the competition for all places on the field is awesome.”

Timinski credits the Kodiaks coaching staff for piquing her interest in coming to southern Alberta and starting her post-secondary journey at Lethbridge College.

“Coach Sean was an amazing guy and meeting him made me feel like I wanted to come and check out the college,” said Timinski. “I’m excited to become a Kodiak and to work towards bringing home a banner.”

Timinski will enroll in Lethbridge College’s Multimedia Production program when classes begin in the fall.

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) has granted approval to draft schedules and commence preparations for the delivery of a 2021-22 post-secondary athletics season.
