Two killed in avalanche in Jasper National Park

JASPER, AB – Parks Canada says two people have died in an avalanche on a mountain popular with climbers near Jasper.
A communications officer with Jasper National Park stated that the slab avalanche occurred Sunday morning on a mountain in the Columbia Icefield.
There is no information about the identities or hometowns of those who died.
Jasper RCMP note that they were called to the area at around 7:45 a.m., May 30.
