263 new COVID cases in Alberta Monday, four in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Monday’s update from Alberta Health Services (AHS) covered statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

263 new cases were reported, bringing the province’s total case count to 227,509. Of those, 7,646 infections are active while 217,636 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 16 new cases were identified with four in Lethbridge.

There are currently 439 people in hospitals across the province, with 133 of those individuals in intensive care units (ICU).

Eight new deaths were reported; bringing Alberta’s count to 2,227 COVID-19 related deaths. No new deaths were reported in the South Zone.

On Sunday, May 30, 4,411 tests were completed, meaning 4,527,212 tests have been administered in the province to date, with 2,142,426 people having been tested.

2,781,430 COVID vaccine doses have been administered as of the end of May 30. An interactive map shows the vaccine coverage in Alberta and can be accessed here.

Since yesterday’s report, 246 cases of COVID-19 variants were confirmed across the province.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

  • Calgary Zone – 92,455 cases, 3,131 active
    • 169 in hospital, 49 in ICU
    • 677 deaths (two new)
  • Edmonton Zone – 76,760 cases, 2,017 active
    • 143 in hospital, 53 in ICU
    • 1,083 deaths (three new)
  • North Zone – 25,732 cases, 1,105 active
    • 48 in hospital, 12 in ICU
    • 181 deaths (one new)
  • Central Zone – 20,221 cases, 923 active
    • 50 in hospital, 12 in ICU
    • 156 deaths (two new)
  • South Zone – 12,319 cases, 462 active
    • 29 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 130 deaths

  • Lethbridge – 4,803 cases (four new), 131 active, 38 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,760 cases, 59 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,603 cases (two new), 30 active, 11 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,439 cases (two new), 42 active, 24 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,488 cases, 31 active, 15 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,239 cases (two new), 42 active, 12 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 1,224 cases (two new), 79 active, 22 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,023 cases (two new), 22 active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 570 cases, 15 active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 462 cases (two new), 33 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 303 cases (one new), eight active, five deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 318 cases (one new), 15 active, six deaths
