Only two new COVID cases in Lethbridge, 209 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Tuesday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

209 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 227,718. Of those, 6,771 cases are active while 218,719 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 15 people tested positive with four in Medicine Hat, three in Cardston County, and two in Lethbridge.

Active infections in Lethbridge are down by 13 and regionally by 32.

Since yesterday’s update, one person from the Edmonton Zone died from COVID, meaning 2,228 Albertans have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 438 patients are currently hospitalized including 127 who have been admitted to intensive care.

In his press conference Tuesday afternoon, Premier Jason Kenney touted the progress made on the COVID-19 pandemic in recent weeks. Statistics showing this are in the image below.

With another 4,100 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,531,332 tests completed on 2,143,438 different people.

2,811,168 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of May 31.

  • Calgary Zone – 92,517 cases, 2,732 active
    • 170 in hospital, 46 in ICU
    • 677 deaths
  • Edmonton Zone – 76,829 cases, 1,799 active
    • 143 in hospital, 48 in ICU
    • 1,084 deaths (one new)
  • North Zone – 25,778 cases, 983 active
    • 47 in hospital, 13 in ICU
    • 181 deaths
  • Central Zone – 20,245 cases, 826 active
    • 50 in hospital, 13 in ICU
    • 156 deaths
  • South Zone – 12,334 cases, 430 active
    • 28 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 130 deaths

  • Lethbridge – 4,805 cases (two new), 118 active, 38 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,761 cases (one new), 56 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,603 cases, 24 active, 11 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,440 cases (one new), 38 active, 24 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,489 cases (one new), 32 active, 15 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,240 cases (one new), 39 active, 12 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 1,228 cases (four new), 80 active, 22 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,026 cases (three new), 20 active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 570 cases, 12 active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 463 cases (one new), 30 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 304 cases (one new), seven active, five deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 319 cases (one new), 13 active, six deaths
  • Cypress County – 294 cases, 29 active, zero deaths
