Jun 4, 2021 | 11:15 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The normal deadlines for the Community Event Support Grant have been temporarily waived by the City of Lethbridge.

Applicants will be able to apply on an ongoing basis throughout the summer.

The next deadline was scheduled for July 31; however, the city says with the possibility of events being allowed prior to that date, groups can access event funding support should they decide to proceed with events. Normally, the grant has application deadlines four times throughout the year.

The application and information can be found here. Scoring and notification of the results will be done within one week of applications being received. The maximum amount available for event organizers is $7,500 per event. For those with budgets of $1,000 or more, the grant can be used for up to 50 per cent of expenses. For events with budgets under $1,000, applications can be made for the full amount.

The city says these changes will be in place until the end of the summer, at which time the deadlines and the situation with COVID-19 will be re-evaluated. All event are expected to follow any public health orders in place to provide a safe opportunity for the community.

Questions and completed applications can be sent to lori.harasem@lethbridge.ca or by phone at 403-360-1720.
