Lethbridge-Medicine Hat unemployment rate for May drops significantly to 7.3%
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The unemployment rate for the Lethbridge-Medicine Hat region saw a significant drop last month.
In May, the jobless rate was 7.3 per cent. In April, that figure was 8.7 per cent. Province-wide, Alberta saw a drop in unemployment as well, with a rate of 8.7 per cent, down from 9.0 per cent in April.
Below is a breakdown of the jobless rate per economic region in Alberta for May, with April’s rate in parenthesis:
- Edmonton: 10.3 per cent (10.6)
- Red Deer: 10.2 per cent (10.6)
- Banff-Jasper-Rocky Mountain House-Athabasca-Grande Prairie-Peace River: 9.5 per cent (9.8)
- Calgary: 8.9 per cent (9.7)
- Lethbridge-Medicine Hat: 7.3 per cent (8.7)
- Wood Buffalo-Cold Lake: 7.1 per cent (7.8)
- Camrose-Drumheller: 6.9 per cent (7.6)
