Lethbridge College hosting free “Movie on the Coulees” June 26

LETHBRIDGE, AB– A drive-in movie night hosted by Lethbridge College is set to run June 26.

Last fall, the college was set to host the Movie on the Coulees event but the strong wind in the city had other plans cancelling the event.

The free one-night-only event is back and will show the 1985 hit, “The Goonies” at 6:30 and 9:30 pm.

Presented by Lethbridge College Alumni Engagement and Fresh Air Cinema, ticket priority will go to all those who had tickets for the previously scheduled September showing.

The college says ticket holders will be contacted directly and will have the option to choose which shows they attend.

“We planned this event to engage with our alumni and the members of our community who help to make Lethbridge College such a great place,” says Stephanie Savage, Lethbridge College Alumni Engagement coordinator.

“The wind may have derailed our original plans, but it didn’t stop us. We are thankful to have another opportunity to spend a memorable evening with our amazing community,” adds Savage.

A drive-in-style theatre will be set up in parking lot “F” on the east side of campus and will feature their new “wind-resistant LED screen.”

Although many tickets are accounted for, if additional tickets are available, they will be offered first to Lethbridge College alumni, employees, students, and then to the general public.

Anyone without a ticket will not be allowed in, with parking based on a first-come, first-serve basis, “with the exception of oversized vehicles, which may be asked to park in designated areas,” the college says.

People are also encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks, and concessions will not be available.

More information about the Movie on the Coulees can be found on the college’s website.
