Jun 11, 2021 | 9:04 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Volunteers will be stopping by homes in Lethbridge on Saturday to pick up donations for the Target Hunger campaign.

The initiative has citizens donate food items for local food banks, with the items placed in bags for pick-up by campaign volunteers. Residents are being reminded to leave their bags of donated items outside their front doors for the Saturday, June 12 pick-up.

Members of the community are asked to have their donations outside by 10:00 a.m. as volunteers will attempt to pick them up between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

In a release, organizers said that, “we encourage every household to participate in Target Hunger on June 12th and to join us in trying to raise 50,000 pounds of food for our local food banks.”

If residents forget to place their bags outside or they do not get picked up, they can still be dropped off at either the Lethbridge Food Bank or Interfaith Food Bank or the following drop-off locations:

  • Safeway (Fairmont)
  • Save-On-Foods (north and west Lethbridge locations)
  • Sobeys Uplands

  • Troy’s No Frills
  • Simon’s No Frills
  • Cornerstone Funeral Home
