Zero new COVID cases in Lethbridge Friday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Friday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

170 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 230,119. Of those, 3,529 cases are active while 224,325 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, just six people tested positive. This is the first day in a very long time that there was not a single new case of COVID-19 in Lethbridge.

Active infections in the city fell by eight and regionally by 25. Active cases in the South Zone dipped just below 150.

Since yesterday’s update, three Albertans died from COVID with two in the Calgary Zone and one in the Edmonton Zone. To date, 2,256 Albertans have lost their lives due to the virus.

Provincially, 296 patients are currently hospitalized including 79 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,215,144 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 9.

With another 6,682 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,592,829 tests completed on 2,158,876 different people.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

  • Calgary Zone – 93,513 cases, 1,409 active
    • 131 in hospital, 32 in ICU
    • 686 deaths (two new)
  • Edmonton Zone – 77,431 cases, 929 active
    • 90 in hospital, 31 in ICU
    • 1,100 deaths (one new)
  • North Zone – 26,156 cases, 585 active
    • 24 in hospital, five in ICU
    • 188 deaths
  • Central Zone – 20,580 cases, 456 active
    • 29 in hospital, six in ICU
    • 160 deaths
  • South Zone – 12,425 cases, 149 active
    • 22 in hospital, five in ICU
    • 131 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

  • Lethbridge – 4,826 cases, 38 active, 38 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,768 cases, 16 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,607 cases, seven active, 11 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,450 cases, 15 active, 24 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,501 cases (two new), 15 active, 15 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,254 cases (one new), 18 active, 12 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 1,247 cases (one new), 29 active, 22 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,027 cases, three active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, two active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 464 cases, 10 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 309 cases (two new), seven active, five deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 319 cases, three active, six deaths
  • Cypress County – 295 cases, five active, one death
  • County of Newell – 240 cases, 12 active, two deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 157 cases, two active, three deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 83 cases, two active, one death
  • Waterton – Four cases, zero active, zero deaths
