AHS confirms just 115 new COVID cases provincially, nine across South Zone

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Monday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

115 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 230,578. Of those, 3,089 cases are active while 225,219 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, nine people tested positive.

Active infections in Lethbridge fell by three and regionally eight. Just 22 cases are currently active in Lethbridge.

Since yesterday’s update, one person from the Central Zone died from COVID, meaning 2,270 Albertans have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 270 patients are currently hospitalized including 73 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,384,026 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 12.

With another 3,315 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,607,469 tests completed on 2,162,860 different people.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

• Calgary Zone – 93,727 cases, 1,283 active
  • 123 in hospital, 32 in ICU
  • 688 deaths
• Edmonton Zone – 77,508 cases, 750 active
  • 77 in hospital, 25 in ICU
  • 1,100 deaths
• North Zone – 26,264 cases, 570 active
  • 31 in hospital, seven in ICU
  • 187 deaths
• Central Zone – 20,617 cases, 366 active
  • 25 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 163 deaths (one new)
• South Zone – 12,447 cases, 118 active
  • 14 in hospital, three in ICU
  • 132 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

• Lethbridge – 4,829 cases (two new), 22 active, 38 deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 1,769 cases, eight active, three deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 1,609 cases (two new), six active, 11 deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 1,450 cases, eight active, 24 deaths
• Brooks – 1,501 cases, 14 active, 15 deaths
• Lethbridge County – 1,254 cases, 13 active, 12 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,254 cases (one new), 29 active, 22 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,027 cases, one active, 18 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, two active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 464 cases, five active, three deaths
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 314 cases (two new), 11 active, five deaths
• Fort Macleod – 320 cases, two active, six deaths
• Cypress County – 301 cases (four new), seven active, one death
• County of Newell – 240 cases, eight active, two deaths
