127 new COVID cases in Alberta, zero in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Saturday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

127 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 231,259. Of those, 2,170 cases are active while 226,800 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, one person tested positive with no new cases in Lethbridge.

Active infections in Lethbridge remained flat at 11 but fell regionally to 77.

Since yesterday’s update, six Albertans died from COVID. To date, 2,289 people in the province have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 221 patients are currently hospitalized including 49 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,721,419 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 18. More people are now eligible to receive their second doses.

With another 5,055 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,635,380 tests completed on 2,169,847 different people.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

• Calgary Zone – 94,095 cases, 1,001 active
  • 108 in hospital, 24 in ICU
  • 696 deaths (three new)
• Edmonton Zone – 77,597 cases, 427 active
  • 51 in hospital, 14 in ICU
  • 1,103 deaths (two new)
• North Zone – 26,376 cases, 437 active
  • 26 in hospital, four in ICU
  • 192 deaths (one new)
• Central Zone – 20,711 cases, 226 active
  • 22 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 165 deaths
• South Zone – 12,468 cases, 77 active
  • 14 in hospital, one in ICU
  • 133 deaths

• Lethbridge – 4,833 cases, 11 active, 39 deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 1,770 cases, three active, four deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 1,610 cases, three active, 11 deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 1,452 cases, five active, 24 deaths
• Brooks – 1,502 cases, seven active, 15 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,259 cases, 22 active, 22 deaths
• Lethbridge County – 1,256 cases, five active, 12 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,025 cases, one active, 18 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, zero active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 469 cases, six active, three deaths
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 318 cases (one new), 13 active, five deaths
• Fort Macleod – 322 cases, two active, six deaths
