92 new COVID cases in Alberta, zero in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Wednesday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

92 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 231,568. Of those, 1,676 cases are active while 227,600 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, seven people tested positive.

Active infections in Lethbridge fell slightly to just nine, while increasing regionally by four to 76.

Since yesterday’s update, two people died from COVID with one each in the Calgary and North Zones. To date, 2,292 Albertans have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 199 patients are currently hospitalized including 56 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,903,238 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 22.

With another 6,335 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,654,476 tests completed on 2,174,785 different people.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

• Calgary Zone – 94,245 cases, 821 active
  • 98 in hospital, 23 in ICU
  • 698 deaths (one new)
• Edmonton Zone – 77,633 cases, 272 active
  • 51 in hospital, 22 in ICU
  • 1,102 deaths
• North Zone – 26,431 cases, 331 active
  • 19 in hospital, four in ICU
  • 193 deaths (one new)
• Central Zone – 20,764 cases, 175 active
  • 20 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 166 deaths
• South Zone – 12,485 cases, 76 active
  • 11 in hospital, one in ICU
  • 133 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

• Lethbridge – 4,834 cases, nine active, 39 deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 1,770 cases, two active, four deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 1,611 cases, three active, 11 deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 1,452 cases, four active, 24 deaths
• Brooks – 1,503 cases (one new), five active, 15 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,263 cases (two new), 21 active, 22 deaths
• Lethbridge County – 1,262 cases (three new), nine active, 12 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,026 cases, two active, 18 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, zero active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 470 cases, five active, three deaths
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 318 cases, 13 active, five deaths
• Fort Macleod – 322 cases, two active, six deaths
• Cypress County – 301 cases, six active, one death
