LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man will spend another month behind bars after attacking two people this spring.

In Lethbridge Provincial Court Wednesday morning, John L. Twigg plead guilty to assault with a weapon and common assault.

Around 2:00 am on May 16 outside of the Esso gas station on 6 Ave South, Twigg and another person approached two people.

A woman was punched and kicked in the head, causing bruising.

A man was hit in the face with a stick, resulting in his left ear lobe nearly detaching.

Lawyers in court were informed that this attack might have had something to do with a previous altercation between the groups, although it was not fully elaborated on what that might have been.

Twigg was sentenced to 90 days for assault with a weapon and 30 days to be served concurrently for common assault.

With credit for time already served, he will spend another 33 in custody.
