Only one new COVID case for entire South Zone, 73 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Thursday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

73 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 231,641. Of those, 1,580 cases are active while 227,768 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, only one person tested positive.

Active infections in Lethbridge are now at just eight and fell by six regionally to 70.

Since yesterday’s update, one person from the Calgary Zone died from COVID, meaning 2,293 people have now lost their lives as a result of the pandemic.

Provincially, 190 patients are currently hospitalized including 50 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,963,419 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 23.

With another 5,715 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,660,189 tests completed on 2,176,300 different people.

• Calgary Zone – 94,287 cases, 814 active
  • 94 in hospital, 22 in ICU
  • 699 deaths (one new)
• Edmonton Zone – 77,639 cases, 246 active
  • 49 in hospital, 18 in ICU
  • 1,102 deaths
• North Zone – 26,448 cases, 291 active
  • 18 in hospital, four in ICU
  • 193 deaths
• Central Zone – 20,771 cases, 159 active
  • 19 in hospital, five in ICU
  • 166 deaths
• South Zone – 12,487 cases, 70 active
  • 10 in hospital, one in ICU
  • 133 deaths

  • West Lethbridge – 1,770 cases, two active, four deaths

• Brooks – 1,503 cases, four active, 15 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,263 cases, 19 active, 22 deaths
• Lethbridge County – 1,262 cases, nine active, 12 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,026 cases, two active, 18 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, zero active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 470 cases, five active, three deaths
• Fort Macleod – 322 cases, two active, six deaths
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 318 cases, 10 active, five deaths
• Cypress County – 301 cases, six active, one death
