More COVID vaccine walk-in clinics in the South Zone this week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – More Albertans can get their first or second dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Alberta Health Services is offering additional walk-in clinics at communities in the South Health Zone, including Lethbridge. Below is a list of municipalities involved:

  • Lethbridge: 4-7 p.m. from June 28 to July 2
  • Medicine Hat: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from June 28 to July 2
  • Brooks: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on-going until further notice

Those wishing to attend a walk-in vaccine clinic must bring their Alberta Health Care card with them, along with photo I.D. When at the immunization site, attendees must wear a mask and use the hand sanitizer provided at the facility.

By the end of Thursday this past week, over four-million doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered in the province.

As of June 24 2021, 71.3 percent of eligible Albertans aged 12 and up had received at least one dose of vaccine, while 34.3 percent of eligible residents aged 12 and up had been fully immunized, with two doses.

In north Lethbridge, 72 percent of eligible people aged 12 and up had gotten at least one dose, according to the latest figures on AHS’ vaccination map. 40.9 percent of eligible people in north Lethbridge, aged 12 and up, had been fully immunized.

In the south of the city, 74 percent of eligible residents aged 12 and up had received at least one dose, while 49 per cent of those eligible aged 12 and up had received two.

For the west side of Lethbridge, 77.7 percent of eligible individuals aged 12 and up had gotten at least one dose, with 44.4 per cent of those eligible aged 12 and up fully immunized.
