M.D. of Willow Creek issues fire restriction

Jun 28, 2021 | 8:15 AM

M.D. OF WILLOW CREEK, AB – A fire restriction has been issued for the M.D. of Willow Creek.

The restrictions has been put in place due to the dry, windy and warm conditions that are expected to persist throughout the week. In a social media post, the M.D. stated that “there is a very high risk of fire spread during windy conditions in any cured (dead and dry) grass fuel type, such as those that exist across the M.D.”

Officials note that the restrictions may become a Fire Ban “with little to no notice” due to the weather conditions in the area. All fire permits have been suspended and no new permits will be issued.
