Fire crews called to blaze at Green Prairie International

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Shortly after 7:00 Wednesday evening (June 30), Fire crews were called out to a massive blaze at Green Prairie International, on Highway 3 east of Lethbridge.

15 firefighting apparatus from Lethbridge and Coaldale attended as well as Coaldale RCMP and Lethbridge Police.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services says the fire in the warehouse spread to encompass about 58,000 square feet.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined as crews continue work to put it out.

Early damage estimates are at approximately $5-million.

Nobody was hurt.

Firefighting operations are expected to continue throughout the day Thursday.
