High Level’s David Fehr is $1 million richer after he scanned his LOTTO MAX ticket and discovered he had won a $1 million cash prize from the June 1 draw.

“I gave my ticket to the cashier and saw the prize amount on the screen,” Fehr told Western Canada Lottery Corporation. “I was so surprised to see that many zeroes.”

“I let out a ‘Yahoo!’ and a few other words I won’t repeat right now,” he joked. “And I did a little bit of jumping around in front of the cash register – I felt instant happiness.”

With his winnings, Fehr says he plans to pay off their bills and put some of the money into savings for his grandchildren.

He also added he’d like to explore the world a little bit.

“We’d like to do some travelling around Alberta and Saskatchewan in the near future, and look into somewhere further away when it’s safe to travel internationally again,” said Fehr.

Fehr also mentioned that as a special purchase for himself, he would like to find a 56 Chevy, a vehicle he’s always wanted to own.

Fehr purchased his LOTTO MAX ticket at Corner Gas, located at 10002 Rainbow Boulevard in High Level. He won his prize on one of the 20 MAXMILLIONS prizes drawn on the June 1 draw.
