City of Lethbridge gives $820K to 15 local non-profits

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A variety of new and continued initiatives will soon be underway thanks to funding from the City of Lethbridge.

Coming from the Community Capital Project Grant (CCPG) program, city council approved this week giving out $820,183.77, about $370,000 of which came from previously unused funds. Some of the funds were also from the federal GST rebates.

These grants range from approximately $1,200 to $200,000.

The Lethbridge Oldtimers Sports Association got the largest grant at $200,000, which they plan to use to create a Community Space at the south end of the Henderson Arena. That will include a board room, kitchen, office space, and storage space, while also making several upgrades such as LED lighting and HVAC upgrades.

  • Opokaa’Sin Early Intervention Society $13,000
  • Romulus & Remus Italian Canadian Club $27,743.66
  • The Lethbridge Little League Baseball Association $47,000
