CROWSNEST PASS, AB – RCMP in the Crowsnest Pass responded to two collisions on Sunday.

The first incident was reported shortly before 12:00 p.m. on July 4.

Mounties stated that a pickup truck pulling a trailer drove over the side of an embankment on Highway 3. The highway, west of Bellevue, was blocked off in all directions. The sole occupant of the pickup truck, an adult man, was taken to Crowsnest Pass Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, according to the RCMP.

A second collision involved a Ford F150 that was struck from behind by a Honda CRV. It also occurred along Highway 3, just east of the first collision, at the entrance of Bellevue.

Mounties noted that both of the vehicles were travelling westbound. The man driving the Ford F150 was assessed and released by EMS on scene. Both the driver and passenger of the Honda CRV were taken to hospital in Crowsnest Pass with what RCMP said appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.

Traffic along Highway 3 has since reopened. Crowsnest Pass EMS and Fire assisted with the response.
