Alberta Skeleton Association hosting recruitment day at U of L this weekend
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Alberta Skeleton Association is coming to Lethbridge this weekend.
Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which an athlete rides a small sled down a frozen track while lying face-down and head-first.
On Sunday, July 11, youth interested in learning more about the sport can head over to the Community Stadium at the University of Lethbridge at 12:00 p.m. for a recruitment drive and informational session.
Olympians will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide assistance. Youth aged 15 can test their potential in a 30-metre sprint, medicine ball throw and standing long jump. The Alberta Skeleton Association (ASA) will also have a wheeled sled and track for athletes to see what it is like to push a sled.
