“Fentanyl superlab” south of Calgary being dismantled

CALGARY, AB – Law enforcement teams are hard at work trying to tackle illegal drug activities in the province, including one facility described as a suspected fentanyl superlab.

ALERT conducted 13 search warrants in the Calgary and Edmonton areas on Wednesday, including the aforementioned facility in a rural area just south of Calgary.

A variety of homes and businesses were searched.

A wide range of chemicals used in the production of fentanyl are in the process of being analyzed.

Officers from RCMP, Calgary Police Service, and Edmonton Police Service are working together.

No further details are being released at this time.
