“Burnout party” in Coaldale with over 1,000 attendees broken up by police due to safety concerns
COALDALE, AB – While the official Street Machine festivities took place over the weekend in Lethbridge, officers intervened in an off-shoot activity in Coaldale.
Alberta RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Tammy Keibel says a business owner in Coaldale’s industrial area invited a couple of hundred people to their location for a gathering on Saturday, one that a community member described as a “burnout party.”
The actual attendance is estimated to be over one thousand.
Keibel told LNN that Coaldale RCMP, the RCMP Integrated Traffic Service Unit, and Lethbridge Police were called out to the event.
