Five people stabbed in Friday night Cranbrook brawl between Alberta-based biker gangs
CRANBROOK, B.C. – The city of Cranbrook in British Columbia was the site of a gang-related incident Friday night.
Cranbrook RCMP responded to a report of multiple people fighting at a gas station on Cranbrook Street North at around 7:00 p.m. July 23. Mounties separated the two groups, and noted the individuals involved were members of rival motorcycle gangs from Alberta passing through the B.C. community.
After breaking up the brawl, police responded to a local hospital, where five people had admitted themselves with stab wounds.
The hospital was temporarily placed under lockdown while the injured victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police were able to prevent further violence between gang members that were barred from entering the hospital and were waiting in the parking lot.
