LETHBRIDGE, AB – Environment Canada says the heat record in Lethbridge set 107 years ago has been broken.
They report that new daily maximum temperature records were set across Alberta in 12 communities on Saturday, July 31.
Of those, Taber was the warmest at 35.6 degrees, eliminating the old record of 34.4 established in 1973.
Perhaps more significantly, however, this was the hottest July 31 in Lethbridge since 1914 when the mercury hit 34.4.
