Taber Aquafun Centre reopened after temporary closure due to COVID

TABER, AB – After being temporarily closed due to a COVID case at the Taber Aquafun Centre Wednesday, the facility has since been reopened to the public.

“After rigorous cleaning and working closely with AHS, the Town of Taber is announcing the reopening of our Aquafun Centre, one day earlier than originally announced and anticipated,” the release reads.

No further details will be provided.

The Town of Taber is advising swimmers that the Aquafun Centre will temporarily close effective immediately.

After a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, the town, in accordance with AHS, has made the decision.

The facility will remain closed until Sunday. A thorough cleaning will take place throughout.

The town states that the employee has not been at their workplace since developing symptoms. Either way, AHS will undergo contact tracing for anyone else who might be impacted.
