LETHBRIDGE, AB – One of the currently-17 names on the ballot for city council in October is Darcy Logan.

“I’ve been an ongoing volunteer in our community and sat on numerous boards and I thought this would be a good way to continue my community service in a leadership capacity at the municipal level.

That includes over 20 years of governance work and volunteering with organizations such as the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery.

“I think I have an understanding of what proper governance and stewardship is, especially for sustainable organizations and fiscal transparency and stakeholder accountability.”

Logan is running on four primary pillars: making the community less divided on key issues, having a vibrant downtown, creating a more healthy environment among city council, and proper fiscal stewardship at the municipal level.

On the topic of a vibrant downtown, he told LNN the following:

“I think we need to find ways to focus on making the heart of our city a destination for retail and cultural experiences while finding some concrete and actionable solutions to some of the crises we are seeing in that space.”

The general voting day for the Alberta 2021 municipal elections is October 18.
