LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College has announced that in-person classes have been cancelled from Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19.

This follows the province’s announcement on new health measures Wednesday evening.

The college said classes will either be moved online or cancelled as it prepares to adopt the new ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ as of Monday, September 20.

Students are still allowed to attend campus to work or access service, however, some on-campus services will be limited as employees are urged to work from home if possible.

Dr. Paula Burns, the college’s President and CEO said, “we are committed to a safe campus experience for our entire community as we work to implement the new Restrictions Exemption Program.”

“Limiting the on-campus experience in the short term will allow us time to create our longer-term plans, which will help us build towards our stated goals of keeping our entire community healthy and safe, and supporting all efforts to offer classes in-person for the entire semester.”

Plans for Monday and beyond will be announced later today (Thursday, Sept. 16) or Friday, September 17.
