Sep 23, 2021 | 10:16 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Roughly 34,000 pounds of potato products are being donated in Lethbridge Thursday.

The Guardians of the Children (GOC) group will be giving away food donated by Lamb Weston on September 23. Jeb Transport Ltd. has donated a truck, trailer and driver time for the initiative, helping drop off items to residents in need. Food items will also help out the local food banks.

The GOC crew will set up shop at 23rd Street and 18 Avenue North at around 12:30 p.m. to give away food that is left over from the morning drop-offs.

The GOC’s mission statement is, “to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same, to serve as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support and protection.”
