Rajko Dodic running for Lethbridge City Council

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Rajko Dodic is taking another crack at Lethbridge City Council in this October’s Municipal Election.

Serving one term as Mayor and several as a councillor, Dodic says the decision to step away from council came down to spending more time with his family outside of office.

When asked why he didn’t run for Mayor in the election, he says councillors can have the same amount of say on decisions and he would be able to focus more on what the public wants.

Dodic prioritizes looking into the police funding and if it’s appropriate, tax-supported debt, and the number of potholes in the city.

“There are a lot of things this community needs and I would like to be there for you. We have a diverse community with various wants, various needs, but I would like to be able to listen to everyone and find out what their priorities are.”

Dodic says it feels like he’s driving offroad sometimes in the city due to the amount of potholes Lethbridge has.

He says he would like to see city parks maintenance looked at is he believes it could be “improved as service levels need to be at the level that people would like.”

Another one of Dodic’s priorities is enhancing the amenities to the new northside park in the city, saying with the growth of the city, “those enhancements need to be made.”

Finishing off, Dodic hopes residents can get out to the polls and cast their vote.

Prior to general election day on October 18, there will be three weekends of advance voting:

  • October 1, 2 – City Hall (Downtown)
  • October 8, 9, 10 – Exhibition Park drive-through (East)
  • October 14, 15, 16 – ATB Centre (West)
