Hurricanes acquire Rhys Raeside from Winnipeg ICE

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have acquired forward Rhys Raeside from the Winnipeg ICE.

In exchange, the ICE will receive Lethbridge’s eighth round pick in the 2022 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft. The 18-year-old Raeside is from Winnipeg and has skated in nine career WHL games with the ICE after going undrafted.

In four games during the 2020-2021 season, he recorded one assist and seven penalty minutes. He laced up his skates in two games this season with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Portage Terriers, totalling one assist and 16 penalty minutes.

He racked up 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) and 41 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Winnipeg Blues in 2019-2020. In total, he’s recorded 44 points (19 goals and 25 assists) with 69 penalty minutes in 57 career MJHL games.
