Canada’s Henderson rallies to tie for second at ShopRite LPGA
GALLOWAY, NEW JERSEY — Canada’s Brooke Henderson rallied with a bogey-free round of 64 on Sunday to finish tied for second at the Shoprite Classic, her first top-10 finish in more than four months.
The 24-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., who began the day tied for 10th, birdied the 18th in the final round for a 64 to finish one shot behind winner Celine Boutier of France.
Boutier birdied two of her last three holes for an 8-under 63 to win the event, when South Korea’s best two players faltered down the stretch.
Starting the final round five shots behind, Boutier ran off six birdies on the front nine of the windy Bayside Course at Seaview to join a growing list of contenders.
