LETHBRIDGE, AB – Over 8,000 students are enrolled at the University of Lethbridge.

The U of L says its total enrolment for the Fall 2021 term is 8,779 students, which is 1.1 per cent shy of the projected 8,875 students for the Lethbridge and Calgary campuses.

Before the deadline to withdraw, 8,851 students had registered – which means only 72 students dropped before the end of September.

The U of L noted that the annual drop date normally sees a small percentage of students withdraw from courses and “likely also reflected the finalization of the University’s Return to Campus protocols.”

The post-secondary institution saw continued growth in its graduate student enrolment, increasing 1.7 per cent to 766 students, which makes up 8.7 per cent of the total student population.

The U of L saw an increase of 9.5 per cent from the previous year for international students, with 600 international students now studying at the university.

In total, 8,096 students are studying at the Lethbridge campus, 588 at the Calgary campus at Bow Valley College and 95 students are learning exclusively online.
