Three Hurricanes players on NHL Central Scouting list

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Tuesday that three players have been ranked by National Hockey League Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List.

On the list from the Canes sits forwards Yegor Klavdiev and Peter Repcik, as well as defenseman Logan McCutcheon, have all been ranked as ‘C’ skaters.

“Klavdiev, 18, was selected by the Hurricanes in the first round (11th overall) in the 2021 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft,” the Hurricanes release states.

The Canes organization has given the following information on the three.

Last season, Klavdiev appeared in 38 games while three different Belarussian clubs racking up 16 points (9g-7a) and 13 penalty minutes. He also had three points in five games for Belarus at the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in the spring.

McCutcheon, 17, was originally picked by the ‘Canes in the third round (60th overall) in the 2019 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product has collected two points (1g-1a) in five games so far this season. Last year, McCutcheon had 11 points (1g-10a) along with two penalty minutes in 23 games during the shortened campaign. He has 13 points and 32 career games.

Repcik, 17, was picked by the ‘Canes in the second round (115th overall) of the 2021 CHL Import Draft. The Kosice, Slovakia product has earned one assist in five games so far this year. Repcik totaled 26 points (9g-17a) in 20 games with Team Slovakia U18 club last season. He also finished tied for seventh in tournament scoring at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup with eight points (4g-4a) in five games for Slovakia.

The total list from the NHL Central Scouting included 24 forwards, 15 defenseman, and six goaltenders.
