RCMP arrest four and lay charges in relation to stolen property and drug trafficking

COALHURST, AB — The Southern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) located two stolen vehicles with stolen licence plates on Wednesday (Oct 20), which ultimately lead to four arrests and multiple charges.

The vehicles were located in Coalhurst and an investigation with the help of Coaldale RCMP and assistance for Coalhurst area farmers, resulted in the seizure of weapons, a quantity of meth, cannabis and fentanyl, as well as the truck stolen from Coleman, a car and licence plate stolen from Coalhurst and a licence plate stolen from Nanton.

Samuel Shawn Fralick, age 24, of no fixed address, was arrested on six outstanding warrants and faces new charges which include Possession of stolen propery and failing to comply with release order.

Fralick is remanded into custody. His next scheduled court appearance is in Lethbridge Provincial court on Oct. 27, 2021.

29-year old Carter Dylan Rains of Lethbridge, faces two charges of Possession of stolen property, two charges of Possession for the purpose of trafficking and Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Following a judicial hearing, Rains was released from custody to appear in court Dec. 1, 2021.

A 29- year old woman from Coleman, faces two charges of Possession of Stolen Property. As well, a 24 year old man of no fixed address faces two charges of Possession of stolen property, failing to comply with release order, Possession of a prohibited weapon and failing to comply with a prohibited weapon order.

The 24-year old man and 29-year-old woman were released from custody and will appear in court on Dec. 1, 2021. Their names cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn before the court.
