Hurricanes apologize for “operational issues” at October 23 game

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes and ENMAX Centre would like to address operational issues from the game on Saturday, October 23rd.

At the game, the organizations said there were problems with ticket scanning, wait times for building entry, wait times in the Canadian Western Bank Lounge, along with payment issues at Top Shelf.

“The ENMAX Centre and Lethbridge Hurricanes experienced technical difficulties prior to doors opening at 6:00 PM and did not have consistent wireless internet in the venue,” the release reads.

As a result, the ticket scanners were not working, causing a lineup at the entry doors. The Canadian Western Bank Lounge was backed up because orders were not able to be processed, and Top Shelf was not able to accept credit or debit transactions.

Hurricanes General Manager of Business Operations, Terry Huisman says the Canes needed to address these difficulties.

“We owe our fans and the new operator of the Canadian Western Bank Lounge upstairs an apology.”

“Fans who experienced long wait times for their food at the Canadian Western Bank Lounge should know it was not the fault of the new operator. Their front of house staff did what they were trained to do, unfortunately, the kitchen was not receiving the orders because the Wi-Fi wasn’t working”.

The Hurricanes organization hopes these recent challenges are not deterrents for fans to attend events at the ENMAX Centre and want fans to know extra precautions have been taken to help address these issues.

Tickets for upcoming games are available and can be purchased at www.enmaxcentre.ca, in person at the ENMAX Centre, or at the Yates Memorial Centre Ticket Centre.
