Hurricanes acquire overage d-man Kade Nolan
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have announced a new acquisition.
2001-born defenceman Kade Nolan joins the team from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2023 WHL draft.
The 20-year-old was originally selected by Portland in the fourth round (82nd overall) in the 2016 WHL Prospects Draft. He appeared in 10 games this season with the club, collecting one assist with nine penalty minutes. In his four-year WHL career, the Rouleau, Saskatchewan product has skated in 181 games for the Winterhawks, totalling 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) along with a plus-27 rating and 59 penalty minutes.
Nolan joins Logan Barlage and Justin Hall as one of three overage players on the Hurricanes’ roster. He’s expected to join the team on their East Division road trip.
