Applications open Dec. 1 for Rotary/Exhibition Agricultural Scholarships

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Young Southern Albertans looking to start a career in agriculture might be able to get some help along the way.

The Rotary Club of Lethbridge East and Lethbridge & District Exhibition have announced the latest intake of applications.

Now in its fourth year, the scholarship will award two bursaries worth $10,000 each to Lethbridge and district’s top agricultural students.

Applicants must be students who have completed at least the equivalent of two full years (60 credit hours) of training at a recognized post-secondary in agriculture or a related field with substantive and documented agricultural content.

Those applying must include:

  • A cover letter that demonstrated their academic achievements, community contributions, leadership abilities, and aspirations in an agriculture-related field
  • Post-secondary academic transcripts
  • Three letters of reference from the post-secondary and community leader(s) confirming their volunteer/leadership qualities
  • An overview of their field of study to be supported by the scholarship
  • Final selection will be based on a formal interview with a Rotary Scholarship Committee

Applications will be available online starting December 1 at rotarylethbridgeeast.ca or ag-expo.ca. You can buy tickets to attend on those websites.

The deadline to apply is January 31, 2022.

A formal awards and fundraising dinner will be held on March 3, 2022, to present the scholarship recipients.
