People who “appeared to be asleep” charged following collision with parked vehicle

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two people face weapon and drug charges following a collision Monday afternoon.

LPS were called to the parking lot of Centre Village Mall at approximately 12:50 pm.

Multiple people reported that a vehicle collided with an empty vehicle. According to reports, the occupants of the subject vehicle “appeared to be asleep.”

No one was hurt.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was still running.

They seized a small amount of fentanyl and cocaine, more than a dozen unknown prescription pills, three knives, pepper spray, and a collapsible baton.

Robert McPherson, 44, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, six counts of failure to comply with conditions, and failure to comply with a release order.

He was issued tickets for several traffic violations and was released for a scheduled court appearance on December 9.

Taren Dalrymple, 39, of Coaldale, is charged with three counts of failure to comply with undertaking conditions and was released for a scheduled court appearance on December 2.
