Lethbridge man charged following north side weapons complaint

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police apprehended a man after a gun was allegedly used to threaten a person.

At approximately 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16, officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of 5 Ave North.

A suspect reportedly pointed a firearm at an individual and threatened them.

Police contained the home, evacuated the residents to a neighbouring property, and made multiple attempts to contact those remaining inside.

A man exited the home and tried to dispose of a firearm in an adjacent property before being arrested around 7:15 pm.

Matayo Graham, 25, of Lethbridge, is charged with seven weapons-related offences including pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon, as well as uttering threats and resisting a peace officer.

He remains in custody while awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
