LETHBRIDGE, AB. — A 39 year old city man is facing weapons offences following a short term investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.

In early November, the LPS Crime Suppression Team initiated an investigation in response to ongoing community concerns about drug trafficking by tenants of a Mayor Magrath hotel.

During the investigation officers witnessed drug trafficking activity from a specific room and on Nov. 18, and a warrant was obtained and executed. Three people were arrested without incident.

In addition, a targeted traffic stop was conducted on vehicle associated with the room and three additional subjects were taken into custody. A search of the room produced a revolver-style pellet gun, rifle-style pellet gun, body armour and a small quantity of fentanyl.
