LETHBRIDGE, AB – Add another notch to Nathan Neudorf’s belt.

The MLA for Lethbridge-East has been named the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Parks for Water Stewardship.

He will assist Minister Jason Nixon in initiatives related to water quality and use around the province.

A release from the Alberta Government states that Neudorf will focus on engaging with stakeholders and the public on ways to protect source water, improve monitoring and reporting, and strengthen stewardship.

Neudorf has already secured a number of other roles in his first term in the legislature, including being the Caucus Chair, chair of the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future, and a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services, the Standing Committee of Public Accounts, and the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.

Premier Jason Kenney also made four other new appointments:

  • Jackie Lovely (MLA for Camrose) as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Associate Minister of the Status of Women
  • Jeremy Nixon (MLA for Calgary-Klein) as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Community and Social Services for Civil Society
  • Dan Williams (MLA for Peace River) as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Culture and for la Francophonie
  • Searle Turton (MLA for Spruce Grove-Stony Plain) as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy

“Thank you to these MLAs for stepping up to take on more work on behalf of Albertans,” says Premier Jason Kenney. “Parliamentary secretaries play an important role in connecting government to Albertans and help to deliver on our commitment to grow the economy and make life better for Albertans.”
