LPS seizes $200,000 in drugs and cash Tuesday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged a man after seizing significant quantities of drugs and cash.

Serafim Soshalskiy, 25, of Lethbridge, is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of cannabis for the purpose of unlawful distribution, possession of the proceeds of crime, and possession of body armour without a permit.

In November, members of the Priority Crimes Unit initiated a short-term investigation into drug trafficking activity from a residence across the street from an elementary school.

Shortly after, on December 6, police executed a search warrant at a home along the 3300 block of Lakeridge Boulevard South.

Police seized:

  • more than 950 grams of cocaine
  • 930 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms)
  • 17 lbs. of marihuana
  • 181 packages of edibles
  • 24 grams of methamphetamine
  • prescription narcotics
  • $20,100 in cash
  • body armour
  • a shotgun with ammunition.

The street value of the drugs is estimated at $187,000. Soshalskiy is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
